The focus of the President’s Message this month is on a big change coming to the type of Optometry many of us practice.
In order for optometrists to continue to provide the highest quality care and the most current practices, we must be up to date on the legislation that governs our profession.
The month of March is near and dear to our hearts because it happens to be “Save Your Vision Month”. “Save Your Vision” was started by members of the AOA in 1927 as a week long campaign.
Last year we witnessed the passing of our hard fought scope of practice bill, AB443. This accomplishment, while rightly deserved, would not have been possible without the focused efforts of optometrists in SDCOS, COA and AOA.
I hope everyone had a wonderful 2017, and a great holiday season. Now that we are through the holidays, the San Diego County Optometric Society is off and running into 2018.
As fast as 2017 arrived, it’s now coming to an end. For me personally, it seems like it was just yesterday that I nervously held my first board meeting followed by my first time hosting a CE lecture.
