Speakers Bureau/ Home Outreach

Throughout the year, our Society is contacted by local organizations for various services that we as a Society would like to provide to the public:

1. Speakers’ Bureau– The San Diego Optometric Society receives requests for speakers to speak to different organizations about topics related to vision and eye health. If you are interested in being included in the list of speakers, please contact the society with your area of interest, and we will contact you when the need arises.
2. Home/Nursing Home visits – The San Diego Optometric Society also receives requests for home visits for eye and vision care from nursing homes and disabled/elderly individuals in our community. If you are interested in being part of the Optometry Home Visits Outreach, please contact the society. We will refer people to any SDCOS members who are able and willing to provide eye examinations and eyewear for patients who are unable to travel.

​​​​​​​If you are interested in being included in either the Speakers’ Bureau or the Optometry Home Visits Outreach program, please indicate your name, phone number, E-mail address, and area of interest (pediatrics, low vision, contact lenses, etc.) as well as the geographical area you are willing to serve.
