The San Diego County Optometric Society Newsletters

It’s hard to believe it’s already November and the year is almost over. What happened to March, let alone summer? I’m ready for some classic San Diego winter weather, where the temperature dips into the 60s… brr! It’s been another fantastic month for the San Diego Optometric Society.

My great-grandmother always told me, "You know you're getting old when time flies by." Boy, is time flying by—now my kids are saying the same. Life is just moving too fast! The SDCOS is in full swing and keeping really busy. We have just one CE left on Thursday, November 14th, at West Pac. The speaker is Dooran Spencer, MD, on Uveitis and Ocular Inflammation. The fun starts at 6 p.m.

What an incredible month! This has truly been a memorable August for many reasons. The August President’s message covered a couple of society projects we had underway. If you missed them, bummer but for you but they will be back. Stand Down San Diego has come and gone

The San Diego sun is definitely upon us and it is wonderful summer.   On Thursday July 18th Dr Kellie Satterfield spoke on lumps, bumps and lesions.  She did an amazing job...

We have made it halfway through 2024. Wow, is this year flying by! It’s flying because there is so much going on at SDCOS that it’s making our heads spin. We have an incredible society thanks to the hard work of our board and all the members—keep it up!

It's hard to believe, but the year is quickly approaching its halfway point, and I am excited about all that is going on at SDCOS. Last month's Continuing Education (CE) session with Drs. Schanzlin and Echegoyen was fantastic. Dr. Schanzlin's talk on how AI will enhance the way we practice Optometry, and Dr. Echegoyen's Glaucoma update were both outstanding.

As the first quarter of 2024 is now behind us, let's reflect on how busy this year has been. My office continues to be super busy, praise God, and the SDCOS board remains a well-oiled machine. A huge shoutout to Dr. Simona Grosu. She has gone above and beyond in helping to keep the entire board on track since Nancy-Jo retired.

Boy, is this year already flying by. It seems like yesterday was February 1st, and February came and went at record speed.

It is hard to believe that February is here. January just flew by. This is going to be a great month. On Thursday, February 15th, at the Mission Valley Hilton, we have Dr. Andrew Mick talking on Retinal Vein Occlusion. He is a great speaker on an interesting topic

Wow, it feels so good to be back as the president of SDCOS. SDCOS is one of the strongest societies in the state and is one of the largest of the state associations.
