Every October the San Diego County Optometric Society comes together to support a cause near and dear to the optometric community:  the fight against diabetes. 

The San Diego County Optometric Society is one of the largest and most active societies in the state.

August is here and with it brings the beginning of another school year and naturally Children’s Eye Health and Safety Month! 

June brings with it sunshine and summertime, but also graduation season!  Across the United States, young doctors are being released into the wild filled with the excitement and enthusiasm such an achievement deserves. 

On April 20th, San Diego optometrists joined together with ODs and optometry students from throughout California to make our voices collectively heard at the capitol.

Legislative Day is just around the corner!  On April 20th, California optometrists will gather at the capitol to discuss with our local lawmakers who we are, what we do, and how we take care of their constituents. 

Happy Save Your Vision Month everyone!  Before I begin going over what this month means for optometry, a few congratulations need to be given after this year’s California Optometric Association (COA) House of Delegates. 

There are many reasons why people decide to give back to their communities, whether that is a need to make a difference, a desire to strengthen a community, or simply the goodness of their hearts
