Community Outreach

Part of our mission at the San Diego County Optometric Society is to serve the public through excellence in community service, education, and leadership. Our member doctors participate in many philanthropic events throughout the year. These include volunteering at the various clinic, health fairs, and vision screenings as well as organizing and attending fundraisers for local and national eye care organizations.

Glasses Donation:
Doctors interested in donating glasses to the Lions Optometric Vision Clinic (LOVC) please bring them to a
CE meeting or contact the society office at 619-663-8439 to make arrangements for pick up.

Speakers Bureau:
SDCOS keeps a list of all doctors willing to speak in front of groups about various topics, do home visits
for patients and assist in student mentoring. ODs interested in the Speakers Bureau, Home Visits,
Student mentoring, and Low Vision OD’s, please contact the society office at 619-663-8439
