A VISION WALK IN SAN DIEGO
November 9, 2009 San Diego, CA
On November 9th of the year two thousand and nine, the Foundation Fighting Blindness hosted the San Diego’s 2nd annual Vision Walk. Held at DeAnza Cove in Mission Bay Park in San Diego, several hundred walkers showed their support, each wearing the colors of their team. The San Diego County Optometric Society was present with a booth answering questions and passing out brochures about vision problems and conditions. Byron Y. Newman, OD, co-chair of Public Awareness operated the booth in a huge tent along with Optelec U.D. and ShopLowVision.com. Kelly O’Neill Director of marketing at Optelec U.S. was the organizer of the VisionZone tent
There were plenty of volunteers, and the sponsors were Optelec and Genetech. The Vision Walks are held all over the country raising money and awareness to find treatments and cures for blinding retinal diseases.
All the displays were held inside the VisionZonr tent, and the crowds were lured in by free sample drinks by Jamba Juice.
