Dr. Kierstyn Napier-Dovorany is the Chief of Low Vision at Western
University of Health Sciences, College of Optometry. She previously held
positions in the Veterans Health Administration in White River
Junction, VT and Saginaw, MI and has practiced in many other optometric
practice settings.
The goal of this course is to educate the primary care optometrist
in basic low vision care by prescribing spectacles
for a patient with a visual impairment. This course will discuss the components of a basic low vision examination, specifically history and refraction, and will discuss the considerations for prescribing spectacles, devices and referrals for a low vision patient. |
