Membership in the San Diego County Optometric Society includes many valuable benefits.

THREE in one membership: Tripartite membership in the San Diego County Optometric Society (SDCOS), California Optometric Association (COA) and the American Optometric Association (AOA), and all their member benefits.

FREE or VERY LOW COST CE: At least six FREE 2-Hour SDCOS CEs for members and three 5-hour SDCOS CEs at only $90.00 each.  Both events include a complimentary meal during the CEs.  Attendance at all SDCOS CE events each year (27 hours/year) covers most of California’s Continuing Education Requirements for licensed ODs .

Special Value Registration at the SDCOS 5-Hour CE meetings, COA’s Monterey Fall Symposium and OptoWest, and the new San Diego Specialty Contact Lens Symposium.

FREE Publications: The San Diego View is a monthly online publication with current legislative, regulatory, health, and community issues. It also includes valuable information on upcoming CE and member-only, special-value advertisements. SDCOS website, www.sdcos.org provides local and state information with an exclusive “member only” section. California Optometry Magazine, a bimonthly publication of COA, provides hot topics in optometry and information on member activities.

E-information: News and Views monthly e-mail keeps you up-to-date on local events with news and information that could influence how you practice. E-blasts from SDCOS sponsors with special offers and up-to-date product and services available exclusively to SDCOS membership.  Facebook Page with the latest information and posts.  COA’s GA (Government Affairs) Weekly Update  provides all members with current legislative topics and concerns.

“Find An Eye Doc”: Optometrist locator services via a toll-free number and online search for the public to use in finding a COA member doctor.

Legislative and Regulatory Advocacy:  COA’s legislative team helps to protect your license to practice and enhance your scope of practice.  Remember, we are a Legislative profession.
